A side effect from a recent change to this power supply is that the new version generates more internal heat than previously, and therefore we cannot recommend it for use with the RTR-501. Using the new adapter for the RTR-501, with its internal sensor, will result in an elevated reading error of 2 ~ 3 degrees C.

At this time the best solution we have for TADREC004 / RTR-501 users who do not want to replace the battery so often is to use the TADREC029 /RTR-501L long-Life Battery Version.
